Dr. Gwendolyn Buck

Dr. Gwendolyn Buck was born in the beautiful Copper Country of the Upper Peninsula. She relocated to the Marquette area as a child and graduated from Marquette Senior High School. She obtained a bachelor's degree in Biology at Northern Michigan University. Her dental degree was earned from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. After receiving her DDS, she chose to pursue an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency in Jacksonville with the University of Florida. There, she had the opportunity to expand her skills in many aspects including complex treatment planning, implant placement and restoration, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery and overdentures (dentures over implants).

Providing care for those in Third World countries is one of Dr. Buck's passions. In 2007, she had the opportunity to provide dental care in the very rural community of El Rosario, in the mountains of Honduras. She can't wait until her next opportunity to travel to a Third World country to help people with such an incredible need for urgent dental care.

During the summer of 2008, Dr. Buck purchased the practice of Dr. Breit in Gwinn. Dr. Buck is a Yooper, so she was thrilled to find an opportunity to come back to the Upper Peninsula. She enjoys many outdoor activities, among them being four-wheeling, hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and swimming. She spends her free time with her husband, Aaron and cat, Chang.

Hi, my name is Amanda. I am a Registered Dental Hygienist, Registered Dental Assistant and licensed in Local Anesthesia. I have worked in the dental field for 36 years, and can honestly say "I enjoy coming to work every day!"

I love being with our patients and helping them achieve optimum dental health by working together and customizing an oral hygiene plan just for them, so they can protect their investment in their mouth and general health. Working with Dr. Buck and our great dental team also makes my work a true pleasure.

I have been married for 20 years to a great guy. My son and his wife now have a beautiful daughter, Ava. I am really enjoying being a Grandmother, and I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy hiking with husband, my cat, Tigger and my two St. Bernard's, Maggie and Dougal, and camping as much as we can.

Hi, my name is Teresa. I am a dental assistant here at Northern Trails Dental Care. I received a certificate in Fundamentals of Dental Assisting from Marquette Community Schools and a career diploma in Dental Assisting from Penn Foster Career College. I've worked as a dental assistant for two years before joining Dr. Buck in November of 2011. I truly believe that I was born to work in the dental field. I absolutely love what I do and I thoroughly enjoy caring for my patients. I don't think there is a better feeling in the world than the reward I get from being a part of peoples' journey to achieve their dental dreams.

I was born and raised in Marquette and recently relocated to the Gwinn area. I am an avid Elvis fan and love to go camping and to the beach, as often as possible. I hope to see you soon!

Hi, my name is Cortney. I have lived in the Gwinn area for most of my life and really enjoy being part of such a great community of people! I haven’t been in the dental field long, but I am enjoying learning all that I can about such an interesting subject. In my free time, I love to read, sing, and most of all, I love being an active leader in my church youth group. The time I get to spend with those kids is so precious to me, I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I look forward to getting to know you and helping you to achieve your dental goals in any way that I can!

Hi, my name is Sally. I returned to Gwinn from the Iron Mountain Area in 2007. I enjoyed 10 years of living and working at K.I. Sawyer AFB until it's closure, which included working as an chair-side dental assistant at the K.I. Sawyer AFB Dental Clinic.

I recently joined the Northern Trails Dental Care team, and am excited to share my 15+ years experience in the dental field.

My husband and I have 3 wonderful children and 2 grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, gardening, and cutting firewood. Our mini Dachshund dog, Peter, often comes to work with me, so if you hear Peter..... he's just saying “Hi”.

I look forward to meeting and offering YOU the best customer service possible.

Originally from Chicago, I moved to Marquette with my husband in 2013 as he works on his Master’s in Psychology at NMU, and as I work on a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Communication through Arizona State University. I have six siblings some of whom live downstate, one in Tennessee, and my parents live in Illinois. My husband and I have a turtle, a bunny, guppies, birds, and some geckos-we love animals-and we have loved living here in the UP! The mountains are beautiful, the hiking is great, the water is amazing, and the people have been the nicest and most generous in any place I have been!

I received my dental hygiene license from Harper College in Palatine, IL with a certificate in local anesthesia and have enjoyed my career as a hygienist for nearly 10 years. I love sharing my knowledge with patients and helping everyone achieve optimal oral health. I have volunteered my time as a hygienist on various occasions including the local “Give Kids a Smile Day,” and in Haiti for 1 week helping the underserved population. Life is good and I’m excited for each new day.
